Den Day - Monday 1st June

On Monday 1st June, the first day back after the holidays,

Dear Parents,

On Monday 1st June, the first day back after the holidays, pupils from Oakridge will join pupils  at Bisley school in a combined charity event.

We will be raising funds for Save the Children by taking part in Den Day. Save the Children are currently supporting the Nepal Earthquake Appeal.

The focus of the day will be on providing shelter. Children can build dens out of a variety of materials, both indoors and outdoors. Children can bring in materials for building dens such as old sheets, tarps, pegs, planks, banners, boxes, flags etc. Be imaginative! They may also like to bring in a cuddly toy to share their den with!

Children are asked to raise money by gaining sponsorship to build dens. Each child will be given a form to help them gather sponsorship. Any sponsorship money collected should be brought into school (Bisley or Oakridge) during the week of 1st June.

Children will also be taking part in Lego workshops in which they will be building towns. The cost of the workshops will be £5 for KS1 pupils and £6 for KS2 pupils. Oakridge pupils will not be charged for the workshops as the cost will be covered by the Oakridge Parochial School Charitable Trust.

Children should come to school in non-uniform, clothes suitable for outdoor play (i.e. trousers or leggings).

School dinners will be provided for children having Universal Infant Free School Meals (YR, Y1, Y2) or Free School Meals. All other children should bring a packed lunch.

Oakridge parents are asked to drop off and collect from the Village Hall on Manor Street at normal school times.
