Newsletter 4 - Thursday 5th February 2015

Well done hockey team.

Pupils from Class 2 took part in a quick sticks hockey tournament this week playing against both small and larger schools from the local area. Although we did not get through to the finals we were very proud of their performance and enthusiasm. Thank you very much to Miss Hawkins for her support in organising and running the teams and to Mrs Lund who came along to help.

Internet Safety Day.

Next week on Tuesday 10th February we will be marking the official Internet Safety Day by talking to the pupils and reminding them of the hard work they have already done learning about how to stay safe online. An information sheet for parents containing ideas about online resources and how to have a conversation about this topic at home is available from Carolyn in the school office.

Playing on the village green.

Due to the current condition of the village green we are asking pupils to use the surrounding areas to play on and importantly to keep out of the mud.

Our intention is to help our pupils keep clean during the day ensuring they are ready to learn when they get into the classroom.

We have received some questions about recent communication regarding swimming and a Copsegrove Farm visit. I am pleased to confirm that swimming sessions will be continuing on Wednesday mornings at Stratford Park. Our provisional term 3 Copsegrove visit was to be confirmed however due to circumstances beyond our control the visit will now be taking place later in the year. As always we will write to you to inform you of the date and to seek parental permission when the new visit is confirmed.

Diary dates can be found on our school website and as always if you would prefer to receive information from school via email please speak with Carolyn in the office who can arrange this.

After School Cross Country

Miss Hawkins will be sending out information to pupils who have expressed an interest in taking part prior to each event. The table below gives the dates – these are weather dependant so are subject to change.

Achievement Worship – different time.

The last day of term for pupils is Thursday 12th February. Our achievement worship in church will be taking place at 2.30pm.

Kind regards

Miss L Austin
