Happy New Year to everyone.

Happy New Year.

Happy New Year to everyone. We hope you all enjoyed the Christmas break as much as we did and are returning to school feeling relaxed and refreshed.

This term Mr Ben Wardle joins our team as teacher for Class 2. I am sure you join us in wishing him a very warm welcome to our school.

PE and swimming.

Our PE and swimming lessons start next Wednesday 14th January. As you are aware these sessions will be taking place at Stratford Park Leisure Centre. In order to start promptly and make the most of our sessions the coach will need to leave 8.45am. All pupils will need to be at school at 8.30am in order for registration to take place before we leave.

Stranger Danger.

We have been informed of an incident that happened on Sunday 4th January in Chalford. An apparent child-snatching attempt took place at the France Lynch Pleasure Ground when two children were playing. Police would like to hear from anyone who has any information about this incident by calling 101 and quoting incident number 262 of January 4.

As part of teaching our pupils how to keep safe we will be reminding them about stranger danger and I am certain parents will want to reinforce this message in discussions at home.

Further information about the incident and a description of the suspect is available in the school office.

Car parking in the morning – a polite request.

We request that parents do not park outside the school when dropping off pupils in the morning. This is to ensure the safety of pupils walking into school around the building. Spaces used at the end of the day which are away from the building and green should be used at all times. If unsure about where to park please do not hesitate to ask.

Emergency School Closure.

Our latest policy relating to the closure of the school in the event of bad weather is available from the school office. Please ask Carolyn for a copy.

In the case of snow information about school closures can be found on the Gloucestershire County Council website and also on local radio.

Value of the Term.

This term our Christian value is courage. An information sheet for families which includes activities which can be done at home in relation to this theme is also available from the school office.

Kind regards

Miss L Austin
