Countdown to the May Revels.

The appearance of the wonderful “Sally Ann” display on the road into Oakridge indicates that the May Revels is fast approaching. It is the biggest fundraiser of our year and relies on the support of all parents and friends of the school so please remember to bring in all donations for stalls next week and let’s keep our fingers crossed for good weather!

It is with much sadness that we say farewell to Mrs Wynter at the end of this term. Mrs Wynter has been supporting pupils at our school for eleven years and during this time has worked across the age ranges, taken on the role of staff governor and been a truly valued and respected member of our team. She will be missed by all. I am sure you join us in saying a HUGE thank you for her dedication and hard work. We wish her all the very best in her future career.

Key Stage 2 SATs

Next week our year 6 pupils will be taking their end of Key Stage 2 statutory tests. In order to ensure that the administration runs smoothly we ask that all pupils arrive promptly each morning.

Operation Christmas Child.

Attached to this newsletter is a message received by Penny Newton from the organisers of this charity. The message really shows what an impact this project has on communities. Thank you to everyone who prepared a shoebox to donate.

School photographs will be taken on Wednesday 4th June. They will be taken in family groups unless you inform us otherwise. If you would like younger siblings to be included please speak with Carolyn who will ensure that these are done first after school drop off.

Future events – a message from the OSA.

-Are you a Dire Straits fan? Then you‘re going to love what we have lined up for you. One of the two leading tribute bands in the UK, “Dire Streets”, has agreed to play for us at the start of their Autumn tour, on Saturday 27th September at the village hall. Playing all our favourite hits such as “Money for Nothing”, “Sultans of Swing” and the 18-minute “Telegraph Road”, this will be an evening to remember. Tickets will be on sale from July, and it looks like this might attract a good crowd!

-The Oakridge “Office” Christmas disco  - for all of us who now work or operate from home and miss the vibe of working in an office, and especially the annual after-work Christmas party, we bring you an evening of cocktails and disco dancing to herald the start of the festive season. Plan space in your diary – village hall Friday 5th December!

End of term 5.

The end of this short term is Friday 23rd May. We will be holding an Achievement worship in church at 9.15am on this day.

Term 6 starts on Monday 2nd June.

Kind regards
