KS2 Forest Schools at Bisley Update

Next Monday, 18th March, as part of our studies on water, Class 2 are going to follow the stream from Bisley down the Toadsmoor Valley, past Toadsmoor Lake and then walk back up through Eastcombe.

Dear  Class 2 Parents,

Next Monday, as part of our studies on water, Class 2 are going to follow the stream from Bisley down the Toadsmoor Valley, past Toadsmoor Lake and then walk back up through Eastcombe.  We will be walking with Class 3 of Bisley School as part of our Forest Schools Day.

We will set off from Bisley, leaving Bisley School at around 9:30am.  The walk will take most of the day and we would like to ask parents to collect their children from Eastcombe playing fields (next to Thomas Keble School) at 2:30 (children do not need to return to school – they can go straight home).  If you cannot pick your child up yourself and want to arrange for someone else to collect your child, please let us know so that we can be sure of who is supposed to collect each child.  If any parents would like to accompany us on the walk, that would be great.

The children will be making boats this week to “race / sail” down the stream.

Children must be dressed suitably in outdoor clothing as we will be outside the whole time.

They need

  •        wellies
  •        a waterproof coat
  •        a plastic bag / bin bag to sit on
  •        packed lunch (and a snack to keep them going on the walk)
  •        plenty to drink (bottle not a carton please)
  •        ideally waterproof trousers (if they have some)
  •        a backpack / daypack to carry it all in

If the forecast is for very cold or very wet weather we will have to cancel / postpone the walk.

Please complete the permission slip, available from Carolyn, and return it by Friday15th March.

Yours sincerely,

Miss Lara Burtwell

KS2 Teacher
