Newsletter 3

Our start to Term 3 has been a busy one.

Start to Term 3.

Our start to Term 3 has been a busy one. Class 1 thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Bristol this week supporting their learning about Dinosaurs. Next week Class 2 will be spending the morning at SkillZone learning more about how to stay safe. Information about curriculum areas of study for terms 3 and 4 are attached with this letter. Your support is always welcomed in school. If you have any areas of expertise or knowledge that could benefit our pupils come and talk to us.

We would like to extend a very warm welcome to the new pupils who join us this term, Bex in Year 6, Evie in Year 2 and Layla in Reception.

Management Partnership with Bisley Blue Coat School.

Our pupils continue to benefit from the link that we have with Bisley School through shared learning opportunities such as trips, visits, themed days and clubs. The Management Partnership is now in its third year and the Governors of both schools are exploring how it may be further developed to enhance learning.

One of the areas the Governors are discussing is the idea of forming a single federated Governing Body. Under a federated Governing Body schools remain separate in their identity but the strategic planning is shared by one body made up of equal governor representatives from each school. More detailed information will be sent to all parents in the coming months as part of a consultation process.

Swimming.

As part of the PE curriculum our pupils are swimming each week on Wednesday mornings. The swimming instructors have suggested that extra adult support would really benefit our youngest swimmers in the pool. We are keen to find a parent helper who would be able to join us on a Wednesday morning until the 26th March. If you are interested and able to help please speak with Mrs Kellaway or Miss Burtwell.

School meals – September 2014.

Attached to this newsletter is some important information regarding school meals. In order to help with future planning we request that all forms are returned to the school office by Friday 31st January.

Christian Value of the Term

FRIENDSHIP

Finally, a big well done and thank you to the OSA for their success with the recent Pamper Evening.

It was a great success and profits add to the funds available to provide extra resources for our pupils.

Kind regards

Miss L Austin
