Newsletter 4 - 7th June 2013

Welcome back, we hope you had a restful break.

Welcome back.

We hope you had a restful break and that you are enjoying the very pleasant weather this week. We would like to remind you to make sure that pupils come to school prepared for the sunny weather. Although we are very fortunate to have the shading from the trees on the green we still advise that children bring a hat and come to school with sun cream applied.

It is with regret and sadness that we say farewell to Mrs Schofield and Mrs McCroddan this term. As many of you will know, small rural schools like ours across the country are continuously looking at ways to make their reducing budgets work effectively for the school and to give the best value for money to ensure pupils receive the quality of education they deserve. Amongst a range of initiatives the Governors and I have made the difficult decision to reduce teaching assistant hours across the school as part of a review of staffing levels with the budget allocated to us. Plans have been agreed to ensure that the new teaching assistant structure means that our pupils continue to receive excellent support. If you have any questions in relation to this please do not hesitate to make an appointment to speak with me.

Mrs Schofield’s and Mrs McCroddan’s last week in school will be the week ending 14th June. They have been a much valued and respected part of our staff team for many years. I am sure you will join us in thanking both Mrs Schofield and Mrs McCroddan for their hard work and commitment as they will be missed by all.

The Revels.

Plans are well underway for The Revels on Saturday 29th June. Thank you to the OSA and all involved in planning the day so far.

As always the event will start with the crowning of the queen and a display by the pupils.

Below is a list of what all pupils will need to wear for their dance.

Girls – anything with a flowered pattern – dress / shirt / t-shirt / shorts / flowery headband.

Boys – checks – shirt / shorts / scarf / cap or hat.

Please ask if you have any questions about this.

Residential Week 17th - 21st June.
