Newsletter 5 Dec 18

Thank you for joining with us last night at the carol concert.

Dear Parents

Carol Concert

Thank you for joining with us last night at the carol concert.  Congratulations to all the children for performing so well and to the staff at school for preparing the children so well.

We look forward in the summer to the whole school performance.  This year it will take place in Oakridge  Village Hall on the evening of Monday 15th July.

School Council

We have a new School Council and have had two meetings so far this term. They have discussed a number of topics including Red Nose Day, World Book Day and the school allotment. Our School Council members are: Alex (Y6), Jack(Y5)  Barnaby (Y4), Thea (Y3), Eeva (Y2), Oliver (Y2).

Thank you to Mrs Skeffington and Mrs McCracken who co-ordinate the Council

Panto Trip

It was lovely to join together with Bisley and Miserden children and staff at the pantomime in Tewkesbury.  The children (and staff) really enjoyed the performance.

Christmas Lunch

It was great to be together in the village hall yesterday where we had our Christmas lunch.  Many thanks to parents who worked so hard to provide additional trimmings including pigs in blankets, crackers, sauce, squash, ice cream and presents for the children and school. Thank you also for the popcorn provided by Melissa; Charlie and Harry’s mum, the sweet bags provided by Vicky; Alex’s mum and the gift bags provided by Claire; Matilda’s mum.

Christmas window

The window decorated in  Christmas theme is amazing. It was put together by Rosie Crockford with the help of children from Class 2. It is beautiful to see it lit up in an evening.

Swimming and PE for Term 3

Attached is a letter giving information regarding PE & swimming for term 3.  Please note your child/children will need to be dropped off at Stratford Park Leisure Centre between 8.30am and 8.45am.

Promoting the school

Thank you for your on-going efforts in promoting the school. Two new children will be starting in the New Year.  I would also like to thank Mrs. Skeffington who with her work with the allotment and promoting the school through the media is helping to raise the profile of Oakridge School in the local community and beyond.

If I don’t see you at Achievement Worship (9.15am in church on Friday 21st) or I don’t manage to speak to you before we break up may I thank you for all your support this year. It’s been a fantastic school year so far and I appreciate the way you’ve worked with us for the benefit of your children. We’ll continue our onward and upward journey into January and beyond.

On behalf of all of us at Oakridge Parochial Primary School may I wish you all a very merry Christmas and a great 2019.
