Newsletter 2 - October 2016

Survival Success.

Class 2 enjoyed a thoroughly action packed two days (and one night) at Copesgrove Farm as part of their “Survival” topic. They took part in a wide range of activities which included shelter building, fire lighting, whittling and packing up tents in the pouring rain. The pupils demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience and determination.

Class 2 will now use their experiences as a prompt to inspire their story writing. As such the Governors have set Class 2 the challenge of a writing competition with prizes for the top five stories produced in class. The winners will be announced Monday 31st October.

We would like to say thank you to the parents who gave up their time to support this adventure and a huge well done to Mrs Modaley for organising this unique and very memorable trip.

Parent consultation evening.

Parent consultation evening is on Monday 17th October. Class 1 appointments are between 3.40pm and 6.00pm. Class 2 appointments are between 3.30pm to 7.20pm. Two local artists will be coming into school during the week to run workshops on willow lantern making and natural dyes and prints. We always welcome support from parents so if you are available to come in and help or have an idea about an activity that you would like to share please let us know.
