Newsletter 5 - Monday 13th June

Welcome to Mrs Modaley.

We give a warm welcome to Mrs Modaley who is teaching Class 2 for Term 6. Class 2 have started their preparations for the end of term performance and it has been wonderful hearing them rehearsing their singing. Some parents came to the meet and greet session at the end of Term 5 but if you would like to discuss any questions or concerns with her please make an appointment with Carolyn in the school office.

Bling Your Bike.

Our annual cycling extravaganza takes place again this term on Tuesday 21st June. The theme this year is Under the Sea. Support for this event is much appreciated.

Sports in term 6.

Kick Off Stroud continue to support our school again this term providing high quality PE sessions through lessons and a handball club running on a Thursday morning. We are pleased to have been able to increase the range of sports taught this year and are very excited about the Class 2 visit to Airkix this week.

Breakfast Club – trial for Term 6.

There has been a positive response for places at our new breakfast club. If you would like your child / children to attend sessions please complete the booking form available in the school office. We are now offering half-sessions that run from 8.15am-8.45am.

Appointment for Class 2.

The position of teacher for Class 2 has been re-advertised and shortlisting has taken place. Interviews will be taking place at the end of this week. We hope to be able to inform parent of the outcome by the end of the following week.

Date for the end of term performance.

Please note that the date for the end of term performance is Tuesday 12th July. We are thrilled that this year the performance will once again take place at the Cotswold Playhouse.



Tuesday 14th June – Class 1 to Slimbridge

Wednesday 15th June – Class 2 to Airkix

Tuesday 21st June – Bling your Bike (back up day Thursday 23rd June if wet on 21st)

Thursday 30th June – Sports Afternoon (for Oakridge and Bisley pupils) at Bisley 

Friday 1st July – Class 2 First Aid training

                         - Teddy Bears’ Picnic for Class 1 and new reception pupils

Monday 11th July – Mini Olympics at Thomas Keble for Class 2 (12.00 – 3.30pm)

Tuesday 12th July – Performance at Cotswold Playhouse

Thursday 21st July – Leavers’ service/achievement worship in Church at 9.15am
